If you’ve been reading this website over the past week, you’ve probably noticed that we’re even more hyped than usual about our new magazine. What can we say? It’s a cracking good issue. A banger. A corker. We poured our hearts into making it, so now we’re doing likewise to promote it – and that includes releasing the video you see here.
This 11-minute documentary offers a rare look inside HODINKEE’s creative process. Nick Marino and Mike Renaud, the gents atop the masthead, walk through the decisions they made – including the one to make a cake shaped like a Cartier Tank – and reveal some alternate takes that didn’t survive the final edit. They also explain the symbols engraved into the Tudor on our cover, and make a prediction about how many readers will correctly solve every answer to the quiz on our opening spread.
