Let’s address the elephant in the room, the pink gold elephant with a powerhouse of a movement. Roger Dubuis has once again displayed its prowess as a master watchmaker and a has shown the world that it does not abide by ‘their’ rules. For the first time ever, the Swiss watchmaker has added a marvellous complication such as the tourbillon to the Knights of the Round Table line.
Roger Dubuis Knights of the Round Table Monotourbillon
This brand is fixated on tourbillons and that is clearly visible in the new Knights of the Round Table Monotourbillon. The watch does not disappoint either. Featuring a central tourbillon in the middle of the “table,” the watch displays 12 knight figures sculpted straight from pink gold acting as hour markers, representing each hour of the day. Another important thing to note here is that the manual winding caliber RD115 inside this amazing timepiece is the first central tourbillon mechanism created by Roger Dubuis.
This is the eighth version of the Knights of the Round Table, a collection that dates back to 2013. Time is shown on the watch via a pair of gold markers that utilize a double-disc rotating system to circle around the tourbillon and show the hours and minutes.
The translucent purple blocks that you see around the tourbillon and on the double-surfaced flange is Murano glass. The crown at 3 o’clock has two different modes, one for winding and one for setting. There is a pusher at the 2 o’clock position that is set flush against the 45 mm wide pink gold case. It can be used to switch between the two.
The Roger Dubuis Knights of the Round Table Monotourbillon is a limited-edition launch. Eight watches will be made that will serve as benchmark products for Roger Dubuis showcasing the avant-garde watchmaker’s abilities as a luxury watchmaker and an artist.
