Rolex: New Watches 2022

Rolex has unveiled its novelties for 2022. Timepieces that shine bright in the light of optimism and bring innovation to the world of luxury watchmaking.

In its perpetual pursuit of horological excellence, Rolex constantly improves the technologies as well as the aesthetics of its iconic timepieces. They are an invitation to push limits and to aim ever higher. With a promise of outstanding quality, thanks to the watchmaker’s in-house mastery in the art of watchmaking, here are the new creations for 2022.

Rolex Air-King

Oyster Perpetual Air-King

A tribute to explorers of the skies, the new-generation Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King celebrates the innovators of aviation and compels people to take command of their own destiny. Its case has been completely redesigned with a crown guard and its display has been refreshed. The new-generation Rolex Air-King is equipped with calibre 3230, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology.

With its 40 mm case in Oystersteel, solid-link oyster bracelet with Oysterclasp, and distinctive black dial, the Air-King perpetuates the aeronautical heritage of the original Rolex Oyster.

The Oyster Perpetual Air-King pays homage to the pioneers of flight and the Oyster’s roles in the legendary story of aviation. 


Rolex Day-Date

Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40Rolex is releasing the new Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 in 950 platinum for the very first time with a fluted bezel. The timepiece is easily recognizable thanks to its ice-blue dial, fluted bezel and president bracelet. Being the cornerstone of Rolex’s aesthetic heritage, this striking component, which is seen only on some Classic models in the Oyster Perpetual collection, and until now, only made in 18-carat gold, will now be offered in the most prestigious metal available, platinum.

The Rolex Day-Date was the first watch to indicate the day of the week spelt out in full when it was first presented in 1956.




Rolex GMT-Master II

Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master IIThis creation is an original version of the GMT-Master II with the crown on the left-hand side of the case and a green and black bezel. This new edition of the watch resonates the GMT-Master created in 1955 which celebrated the advent of commercial flight. Adjustments were needed to move the winding crown to the left side of the watch case and the date aperture to 9 o’clock. Changes in the process of measuring the precision of the watch during final testing was required as well.

The Cerachrom bezel insert combines green and black in an original colour pairing reserved for this watch. Its 24-hour graduation allows the time in a second time zone to be read in association with the distinctive green, triangle-tipped 24-hour hand.

The Chromalight display, with optimized luminescent material, and the new crystal with anti-reflective coating offer enhanced legibility in all conditions.

This latest version of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II is equipped with calibre 3285, which was launched in 2018 on this range. Robust and reliable, this cutting-edge movement offers excellent chronometric performance.

The GMT-Master II with the crown on the left is available with an option between an Oyster bracelet or a Jubilee bracelet.

Rolex Yacht-Master 42

Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42This unique gold alloy is created and cast at the brand’s foundry in Geneva, Switzerland. It provides unparalleled resistance, making the new Yacht-Master 42 an unbeatable companion on the open seas.

Its Oysterflex bracelet is equipped with an Oysterlock safety clasp, also in 18-carat yellow gold, which prevents accidental opening, as well as the Rolex Glidelock extension system that enables the user to adjust the length of the bracelet without any hassle.

The black lacquer dial with hour markers in simple geometric shapes, the crystal with an anti-reflective coating and the optimized Chromalight display combine to provide excellent legibility in any circumstances.

The Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 is equipped with calibre 3235, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology.


Rolex Datejust 31

Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31The floral-motif dials of the new Datejust 31 are bursting with fresh energy and full of promise, combining three different finishes, i.e., sunray, matt and grained.

High-technology finishing techniques were used to create this motif, a shining example of refined dial-making expertise. The textural effects are further enhanced by 24 diamonds in three different sizes, which illuminate the centre of each flower.

The Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 is offered in three versions. A white Rolesor version – combining Oystersteel and white gold – with an azzurro-blue, floral-motif dial, a fluted bezel, and an Oyster bracelet; an 18-carat yellow gold version with an olive-green, floral-motif dial, a bezel set with 46 brilliant-cut diamonds and a President bracelet; and an Everose Rolesor version – combining Oystersteel and Everose gold – with a silver, floral-motif dial, a bezel set with 46 brilliant-cut diamonds and a Jubilee bracelet.
